Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, healthcare management, or social sciences; advanced degree preferred.
  • Several years of experience in compliance, quality assurance, or a related field, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, quality assurance principles, and industry standards relevant to the organization's mission and activities.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and across organizational levels.
  • Certification in compliance, quality assurance, or a related field may be preferred (e.g., Certified Compliance Professional, Certified Quality Auditor).

Position Summary

Gang Alternative, Inc. (GA) is of the leading nonprofit companies in the state of Florida. Over the past 18 years, we’ve been growing and increasing our footprint. The Compliance and Quality Assurance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that GA adheres to regulatory requirements and maintains high standards of quality in its programs and operations. This position involves developing and implementing compliance and quality assurance processes to safeguard the organization's reputation and effectiveness.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Compliance Management:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards and update compliance processes accordingly.

Quality Assurance:

  • Establish quality assurance protocols to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of programs, services, and internal operations.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance metrics and benchmarks to measure performance and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Collaborate with program managers and staff to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.

Training and Education:

  • Provide training and guidance to staff members on compliance requirements, quality assurance standards, and best practices.
  • Develop training materials and resources to support ongoing education and awareness efforts across the organization.
  • Facilitate workshops and presentations on compliance and quality assurance topics as needed.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess risks related to compliance and quality assurance and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop contingency plans and response protocols for addressing compliance and quality-related issues.
  • Monitor and analyze trends in compliance and quality assurance data to proactively address emerging risks and challenges.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation related to compliance and quality assurance activities, including audit reports, findings, and corrective action plans.
  • Generate regular reports for senior management and the board of directors to communicate compliance and quality assurance performance and trends.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Serve as a liaison between the organization and regulatory agencies, auditors, and other external stakeholders on compliance and quality assurance matters.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and coordination of compliance and quality assurance efforts across departments and programs.

  • This position requires independent travel between workstation and other sites. Consequently, the incumbent must always maintain a valid Driver’s License and insurance coverage on personal vehicle during
  • Performing the duties of this position requires the ability to walk, sit, stand, reach, talk, hear and lift presentation materials, including equipment.
