Job Summary:

Oversees daily production operations demonstrating commitment to employee safety, product quality, and teamwork. Under the direction of the Production Manager, directs and coordinates activities of the production department including responsibility for operation, planning, execution, and personnel of production according to established standards. These standards enable us to provide a quality product/service to ensure our customer’s satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work safely in every case and promote safety at every interaction with associates
  • Under the direction of the Production Manager, plans, directs, and coordinates activities relating to shift operations, including safety, quality, production, sanitation and employee relations.
  • Works closely with Production Supervisor (s) assigned to the shift to ensure the daily work activities are completed as expected.
  • Determines and manages appropriate manpower requirements in conjunction with the Production Supervisors.
  • Ensures Production Supervisors are adhering to standardized work instructions, rotation schedules, and cross training is done, as necessary.
  • Tracks and reports daily production and drives improvements where necessary.
  • Maintains costing efficiency through efficient production operations and adequate product yields.
  • Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and achieve greater utilization of labor and materials.
  • Responsible for the allocation of resources in line with established cost structure.
  • Compares production goals to actual production run to measure efficiency.
  • Ensures all paperwork are completed in accordance with established time frame or record keeping requirements.
  • Oversees various processing operations and works with other departments in order to reduce waste.
  • Enforce company policies and regulations.
  • Enforce housekeeping standards.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Department to ensure proper upkeep of equipment.
  • Coordinate with the Warehouse Department and Planning to ensure material is available for production.
  • Assist with annual performance evaluations of subordinate personnel, providing constructive feedback to each individual.
  • Provide necessary support and resources to all employees to assist them in the performance of their duties
  • Periodically perform line checks.
  • Ensure all production personnel are trained according to their departmental procedures.
  • Review all audits and training to ensure that noted deficiencies identified are corrected and/or retrained as noted.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree desired or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-8 years working in a production environment.
  • 4+ years previous supervisory experience, Food Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Must be able to work with all types of food products, including allergens.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, bilingual a plus.
  • Familiar with GMP’s and procedures including Environmental Health & Safety, Human Resources, etc.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules and tasks.
  • Advanced user with MS Office.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a cross-functional team in problem solving activities
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully coordinate and complete multiple tasks within established and changing deadlines
  • Working knowledge of safety standards and OSHA guidelines

Environment:

  • Frequent exposure to extreme temperatures or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
  • Noise level in the work environment can be loud.
  • Exposure to various food types including possible allergens.
  • Regular requirement to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasional sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include ability to see near and far with or without correction. Must have color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
