Compensation: $100,000- 137,000 annually- Depending on experience


The Position Proposition:

Primoris Q3 Contracting is seeking two Area Managers for its Commerce City/Denver Metro, CO location; One will support Bore Operations and the other will support Underground Operations.

  • Efficiently and effectively manage and coordinate assigned work volumes
  • Responsible for monitoring and assuring that Foreman and their crews immediately begin working once they are on the clock to maximize company resources
  • Responsible for the quality of work done on the job, assuring that all work performed by the Underground Division field crews meets our quality standards and requirements
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and that the work adheres to construction schedules
  • Perform frequent on-site safety and quality inspections
  • Work with supervisory personnel to resolve complaints and grievances with the work force as needed; document the problem and resolution
  • Suggest personnel actions including terminations, hires, promotions, etc. to the General Manager for resolution
  • Accurately record employee time, equipment usage, production quantities, materials and job notes and submit the information in the required timeframe; Maintain a daily journal including the job(s) worked on, weather conditions and any unusual circumstances that occurred
  • Maintain assigned equipment in good working order and perform field repairs as needed. Coordinate equipment maintenance with the equipment vendors and Fleet Manager and notify him/her of breakdowns and required repairs
  • Schedule equipment to achieve maximum utilization and minimize the need for rentals
  • Determine the sequence and manner in which work will be carried out, consistent with established customer requirements and internal processes and procedures
  • Maintain performance at a consistent level with the established schedules
  • Ensure all work, whether performed by company workers or subcontractors, meets the highest standards of quality workmanship
  • Receive and properly store all materials and equipment brought or delivered to the job site
  • Cooperate with other Area Managers and General Managers in transferring equipment, materials and workers among projects
  • Maintain neat and orderly work areas that are secure from unlawful intrusions and also protect the public
  • Communicate and cooperate with the job inspector, Estimating, Human Resources and Safety and Training groups on job details and requirements
  • Provide a safe working environment for the crews by following and administering the Company Safety Program. Document and ensure corrective measures are implemented, where applicable
  • Final approval for expenditures and timecard expenses with timely submission to the Accounting and Payroll Departments.
  • Communicate any problems/concerns to the General Manager
  • Actively communicates with Area Supervisors, Foremen and General Manager as required
  • Actively communicates with contractors and vendors and handles customer complaints to resolution
  • Effectively cross sell all divisions and products of the companies to new and existing customers. Other duties as assigned.
Educational & Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Post-secondary training in construction or engineering
  • Degree in Construction Management, Business, or equivalent is a plus
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be accepted.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to share expertise with others and continually build their knowledge and skills
  • Knowledge of computers and Windows based software and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications that are employed to improve process and efficiency
  • Respond promptly to customer needs and resolve all issues satisfactorily
