Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Work side by side with military and civil service personnel within the Paraloft disassembling, repairing, testing, troubleshooting, examining, fitting, modifying, maintaining, installing, and determining serviceability of aircraft survival and flight equipment such helmets, torso harness assemblies, life preservers, parachutes, life rafts, chemical and biological protective devices, survival kits, oxygen masks, and anti-G-suits. 2.Perform operational and circuit checks of emergency signaling and communication devices such as survival radios and beacons. 3.Knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance procedures, pyrotechnics and explosive devices, and aircraft egress systems. 4.Act in daily compliance of all safety and tool control instructions. 5.If required, perform unscheduled maintenance in addition to hourly, calendar, phase, and conditional inspections as required by maintenance requirement cards. 6.Analyzes, interprets, and recommends maintenance actions based on unscheduled engine removals and engine monitoring system data (if system is available). 7.This mechanic shall conduct all disassembly, assembly, and testing of survival and flight equipment and assembly IAW all applicable intermediate maintenance and/or overhaul technical manuals. 8.Tests components using bench mockups and test equipment. 9.Inspects and maintains ground support equipment (SE). Operates and performs operator inspections on related SE. 10.Selects, uses, and cares for special tools, hand tools, and test equipment. Uses and disposes of hazardous waste and materials. 11.Ensures that engine cleaning, as required, is done in accordance with engine specific maintenance manuals or instructions. 12.Ensures that replacement parts, material, equipment, and accessories used in the repair of aircraft components shall only be those authorized by the Government in Government approved publications provided by the Government. 13.Any and all other duties as directed by the Program Manager/Site Manager.

Required educational/skills background: 1.High school diploma or equivalent. 2.Must be authorized to work in the U.S. 3.Must be familiar with all publications relevant to the maintenance of the T56A-425/427/427A engine appropriate to the assignment and have a thorough practical and theoretical knowledge of the equipment/systems. 4.Working knowledge of the CNAFINST 4790.2 series, applicable Naval Aviation Maintenance Programs Standard Operating Procedures (NAMPSOPs) and local NAMPSOP instructions. 5.Individuals released from military service with other than “Honorable Discharges” do not meet minimum qualifications. 6.Must acquire and maintain all Support Equipment licenses that are required to perform daily tasks. 7.Must be able to maintain base access and government IT access. 8.All Contractors are required to have a Common Access Card (CAC) and shall be required to pass the equivalent of a trustworthy National Agency Check plus, Written Inquiries with Credit Check (NACI).

Experience Requirement: 1.Level I – Four (4) years previous experience in flight equipment. Must be capable of attaining Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) within required timeframe. 2.Graduate of the Navy Parachute Rigger (PR) “A” School. Designated as a Navy PR or Marine Corps MOS 6048 Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS). 3.Government Service (GS) civilian and contractor maintenance ALSS technicians must be: Graduate of the Navy PR “A” School or equivalent Air Force or Army MOS courses. 4.Explosives handling qualified and certified per OPNAVINST 8023.24 or MCO 8023.3, as applicable. 5.Must possess knowledge of the learning process and how to transfer technical knowledge to less qualified personnel, including the ability to express thought in both oral and written communications. 6.Shall be a U.S. citizen and be able to read, write and understand the English language. 7.Must have and maintain a valid State Driver’s License if the use of a government vehicle is required with billet. 8.Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) licensing of contractor employee technical proficiency is not required. 9.TDY travel may be required on occasion. Physical Demands This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching, and climbing. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Work Environment (ADA): May be required to work in areas in or near a hangar/ flight line that may be noisy at times. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. May be required to wear personal protective equipment when in or passing thru a hazard area. ·Office environment ·The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
