Position Summary

As a Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for performing aircraft maintenance and repairs on company and customer aircraft at our Part 145 Repair Station. Our mechanics efficiently and effectively maximize aircraft availability while demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the Repair Station Manual (RSM) and Desert Jet’s policies and procedures. With Safety as a core value, our team understands that aircraft maintenance is key to ensuring all aircraft are repaired and maintained to the highest of safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs inspections and repairs of aircraft and components in accordance with maintenance procedures, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, service letters, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Ensures all aircraft maintenance documentation is executed in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable maintenance manuals.
  • Be constantly alert for defective, wearing, or failing parts to be proactive in solving issues before they arise.
  • Proper execution of an Airworthiness Release.
  • Responsible to sign for the completion of work on applicable work forms and records.
  • Carry out assigned work in a safe, efficient, and timely manner, exercising sound judgement in executing each work project.
  • Provide timely on call availability during nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform required duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods of time.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp, or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.
  • Some travel may be a required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Current A&P Certificate required
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2+ years related experience and/or training
  • Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 145 maintenance requirements and regulations.
