Title: Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurse - 2 positions

The purpose of this position is to provide primary mental health care for students presenting with mental health conditions. In the care of patients, the Psychiatric APRN uses advanced diagnostic skills, orders diagnostic tests, prescribes medication in accordance with the Nursing and Advanced Practice Act, and administers medications. The Psychiatric APRN uses medical therapeutic, and corrective measures to treat illness and improve mental health status.
$10,000 - $11,667 per month, commensurate with experience and education
1. State of Illinois Advanced Practice Registered Nurse- Full Practice Authority license (FPA)
2. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification (PMHNP-BC) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center
3. Illinois Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist (Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing)
4. Illinois practitioner license under the Illinois Controlled Substance Act, including Schedule II medications
1. Two (2) to Five (5) years of experience working with mental health patients.
2. Experience in college health.
3. Proficient in documentation in and use of an electronic medical record.
Core work hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
2. Ability to stand, walk, sit, hear, see, write, speak. and read.
3. Required to have color perception and visual acuity.
4. Ability to balance on an exam stool which swivels and has casters.
5. Ability to use technology to provide efficient mental health care in a timely manner.
