Iowa Orthopedic Center is seeking a Entry Level Accounting/Financial Analyst to join our team. As a Accounting/Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in our finance team! Our full-time position is Monday through Friday and is required to work in office. This role offers a dynamic and team-oriented environment focused on mutual support and the improvement of patient outcomes.

SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst works directly with leaders of the company to inspire change and use innovation to improve processes. The Financial Analyst will have the freedom to explore ideas and work with others to identify problems, and write solutions. The role is an integral part to our growth as a company and service to the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the new business process while collaborating with all department managers.
  • Responsible for the day- to-day general ledger accounting and reconciliation, financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas.
  • Investigate and report to the Manager any inconsistencies or improprieties.
  • Responsible for designing and generating various company reports and financial analytics that focus on medical cost, utilization, membership, trends, and ad hoc requirements.
  • Based on detailed analytics, create actionable information that results in identifying trends and opportunities for improvement in company and provider performance.
  • Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance projects as assigned by leadership.
  • Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis of the results of the company’s performance against historical, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the strategic plan.
  • Reviews and provides logical explanations for monthly, quarterly, and annual variances in general ledger accounts and practice statistics.
  • Provide ROI analytics on projects/investments across the organization.
  • Is fully committed to meeting and/or exceeding expectations/satisfaction in the performance of job functions.
  • Full ownership of Account Receivable including researching payments, daily check deposits, analysis, and balancing.

  • Retains all practice accreditations, licensures and designations in good standing.
  • Maintains compliance with all laws and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in practice-wide performance improvement initiatives and activities.
  • Describe an insightful use of financial analysis techniques, tools, and concepts, to provide practical counsel to business area partners and management to drive business results.
  • Understand and facilitate the integration of business processes, people, and relevant technology, in order to identify, configure, and communicate useful information, and to provide practical business leadership to drive business decision making across the company.
  • Identify non-value added processes within the department and seeks solutions.
  • Responds to all reasonable requests in an appropriate and timely manner and communicates in a concise and positive manner. Consistently maintains control of feelings, emotions, and body language.
  • Performs other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Recent college graduates with a Bachelors in Accounting or Finance degree encouraged to apply

  • Minimum 3 years experience in Accounting Analysis.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of statutory accounting principles.
  • Must have strong MS Excel skills. Power BI a plus but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment.
  • Maturity, professionalism, and high level of discretion are required.
  • Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Independent worker and analytical thinker with an ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems.
  • Experience with company growth, expansion, and managing multiple large goals is a plus.
