Employment Information

The fitness industry can be a harsh, unwelcoming place to many groups of people: Women, people of color, those who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, folks with little or no athletic background, or who are "too big" or "too small" to fit within the preferred body type of typical fitness culture, or think they’re too old to make changes.

These humans deserve a place to work out without judgement, without the constant push to compete with others, without feeling like they're less than anyone else in the room. Where their value is not determined by their workout scores or heaviest lifts, or how "fit" they look. Where they can just be, and feel at home.

We strive to be that place at Ripple Effect.

We welcome anyone who is on board with these values and our vision (or at least willing to come with an open mind), whether you're part of these marginalized communities or not.

We're looking for an experienced fitness coach to join our team, specifically to take on the bulk of our evening personal training sessions and potentially some group classes & On Ramp sessions.

Employee development is one of our most important values. This will be part time to start (2-8 sessions per week), but for the right person, we will do everything in our power to help you make a career at Ripple Effect, if you want it. You'll be offered opportunities to develop and improve your coaching on a regular basis.

We want coaches who are ready to jump in with both feet and immerse themselves in the Ripple Effect community, take our classes, and really be part of it all. Your membership will be free, and we expect you to make an effort to use it!

Pay is hourly for personal training, classes, and any admin/support work. We pay a fixed percentage for speciality courses and seminars.

Minimum Qualifications:
-- CF-L1 or higher, or equivalent strength & conditioning or personal training certification
-- CPR/AED/First Aid certification
-- At least 6 months of previous personal training/HIIT/weightlifting/CrossFit coaching experience
-- Regular availability to coach evening sessions between 4pm-8pm

Personality:

-- Reliability is HUGE. Be on time, do what you say you'll do.
-- You must genuinely care about your clients and their long-term success.
-- Walk the walk. You need a passion for fitness and a healthy lifestyle.

-- You have FUN coaching and working out! If clients aren't having fun, they're not going to stick around. The vibe is everything.
-- Comfortable speaking to and engaging with large groups, small groups, and individuals
-- Hands-on coaching, no exceptions! You must be comfortable making cues, corrections, and offering encouragement in a class setting. Not just reading a whiteboard and hitting "GO" on the clock.
-- Entrepreneurial. We will provide a framework and support for you to put on seminars, speciality courses, individual coaching, or whatever you're passionate about. We want someone with the desire and initiative to pursue these opportunities when they arise. They're great for the gym community, but also the best way for a coach to develop sustainable income and do this full time.

Our goal is to become THE place to come for the best & brightest coaches in the area. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!
